Parent Memo: November 6, 2020
PRINCIPAL’S CORNER:
Please check the fitting on your child’s mask. We have a number of children who have to pull up their masks all day long. It’s difficult enough for children to have to wear a mask all day but made doubly difficult by having to fiddle with it constantly because it is poorly fitting. Proper fit is important not only for disease prevention but also for peace of mind for the child. The biggest problem we see is masks slipping down off the nose, and some that even hang down to the chin! There are a number of websites that make masks with adjustable straps or are made particularly for children. It’s an investment in your child’s health. Thank you.
In Service,
Ms. Laura
SHOUT-OUTS
This week’s Shout-Out goes to Ivana Alejandro-Leon. Ivana is one of our online students, but she is exemplary in her behavior and participation. She is always on time, has her camera on and is prepared for class. Her assignments are completed in a timely manner and well-done. Keep up the good work!
VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
Our school’s Veterans Day Program to honor our veterans and our active duty service personnel will be Tuesday, November 10th . School will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th. The children will be participating in a video presentation that will be viewed by the whole school on November 10th and posted to the school’s website, social media accounts and emailed to the school parents and the parish next week. Please share the video presentation with any veterans or active duty service personnel you may know. At the end of the video, there will be a website link where you can donate to an organization that distributes aid to veterans and families of veterans in need. We ask that you please honor our veterans by participating and we hope you enjoy the presentation.
November 10th will also be a patriotic dress down day for the children. They can wear ONLY jeans or their school uniform bottoms (pants or skirt) and a red, white, blue themed shirt. They can also choose just to wear their regular school uniforms. Please make sure the t-shirts do not represent any political slogans.
